“Ark The god given MC” is her name from houston TEXAS, now living in dallas TX. She has come from a long way in pursuit of the American dream.

This single “No Swipping” is the remix to the original off the previous mix-tape. As she introduce herself to dallas hiphop scene and beyond, “Ark the god given MC” has already been co-signed by the two most relevant artist in the City of Dallas, “Brown” from “Sore Losers” and “Slim” from “A.Dd+” .

Upon arrival at SXSW, Sore Losers hit the ground running everywhere (business meetings, interviews, networking events and shows) getting it all in around Sore Losers official showcase and performances. On the final day of SXSW, prior to hitting streets and performing that night at the Beats, Bass & Beams Music Fest show, Sore Losers gathered to discuss their set and plan there last day in Austin. The conversation quickly morphed in to a discussion about Sore Losers past year in review, the We Are Sore Losers EP, upcoming schedule demands and new music for the remainder of 2012. The We Are Sore Losers EP original music creation process revealed many things to everyone involved. Although the journey was far from easy, all agree it was essential to growth to experience as much of the real grind of the music business as early as possible. The overall experience was retrospective yet key in truly knowing if the music industry is really for you.

During the We Are Sore Losers EP creation process, Brown patiently observed and learned the live music creation process.  All who know Brown know he always has lyrics in his head just waiting to get out. When the project finally neared completion, Brown’s constant need for great music called for the best possible solution to bridge the gap not only for Brown or Sore Losers but more importantly for Sore Losers loyal fans and supporters.

Sore Losers band will be heading back to the lab soon to start laying the groundwork for the next live Sore Losers band project. Already in the works, Brown will release a series of mixtapes. Sore Losers fans should be on the lookout for the first mixtape currently being recorded.

RAPPING IN THE RAIN…

Diehard fans new & old came out in the rain to catch Sore Losers show

 Although it was a cold rainy day, nothing at the 35 Denton Music Festival skipped a beat. All 35 Denton staff was in place, main stage was set, jumbotrons, sound checks and performances were all systems a go despite the bad weather. When Sore Losers took the stage, diehard fans came out of nowhere in anticipation of a high energy live show and Sore Losers refused to disappoint.  From the start of their first song, Sore Losers got the 35 Denton crowd moving with an all-in crowd dance.  Moved by the head bobbing umbrella and poncho clad crowd, Brown jumped off the stage joining the rain soaked fans for Sore Losers rock version of Birthday 8587. Sore Losers showcased their iconic experimental hip hop sound to a great crowd succeeding in making the rain just an afterthought… Mission Accomplished!!!

 Sore Losers will forever appreciate the 35 Denton show fans who stood out in the rain rocking with them!!!

I play guitar in the Denton hip-hop band, The BoomBachs. In an attempt to find a group that had musical similarities, we came across you, and we really dig it.  After a gig at 2826 Arnetic, in Dallas, we were told to get in contact with the Sore Losers, and I can see why. We want to bring the energy and spontaneity of live instrumentation to underground hip-hop in Texas, and would prefer to associate ourselves with like-minded folk. I’m going to attach an mp3. On daily basis, all sorts of emails inquiries are received and reviewed by our manager.  After reading Connor’s email and listening to some of The BoomBachs music, she replied.  Later that day, on a routine call with Brown she said, “Have you ever heard of a hip hop band out of Denton called The BoomBachs???”

From the initial email to a phone call to more emails and calls, conversations started flowing back and forth on a regular basis on everything from best practices to possible collaborations to you name it. Fast forward to December 2011, The BoomBachs trekked out to Dallas to officially meet all the Sore Losers in person at the We Are Sore Losers EP First Listen Session | The Journey Revealed..  A couple of months later, without ever seeing The BoomBachs live performance, Sore Losers invited The BoomBachs to perform at the We Are Sore Losers EP Release Celebration Show. Sore Losers believed without a shadow of doubt their talented little bros from Denton would put on a great high energy live show…and that they surely did.  Back on Feb 4th at the We Are Sore Losers EP Release Celebration Show, The BoomBachs took the stage with Sore Losers front and center in the crowd showing support.  The BoomBachs instantly mesmerized Sore Losers fans getting the crowd hyped before Sore Losers hit the Trees stage taking everyone on an emotional journey from K Cooks dramatic entrance all the way through to their encore performance set last note.  All there witnessed both bands mutual appreciation of each other’s music and showmanship and quite naturally wondered when Sore Losers and The BoomBachs would reunite for another show.

Although some think there should be competition between the bands, both bands feel the opposite respecting the different lanes each are creating in the hip hop music genre. The bands’ friendship and commitment to support one another has led to a natural backup support system.  Sore Losers and The BoomBachs bands have both mutually agreed to back each other up whenever necessary so nothing skips a beat when a band member and/or band can’t make a show.
